InfoTiles has been granted SkatteFUNN R&D (research and development) support as an innovative business for 2022-2024. SkatteFUNN is a tax deduction Norwegian government programme and support scheme that motivates Norwegian businesses to increase their investment in R&D.

InfoTiles will further the R&D of its applied artificial intelligence to provide accurate modelling of water supply networks without the time-consuming and costly manual work of correcting existing deficiencies in data sets.

The outcome will be a service (software-as-a-service), acting as a supporting tool for decision-makers who are unable to use existing methods due to lack of resource or financial constraints. This will pave the way for further data-driven initiatives for clients and partners hampered by poor-quality data. The anticipated outcomes will benefit our customers and the communities they serve by making Digital Transformation projects more accessible to smaller utilities and accelerating the adoption of enabling technologies such as digital twins for larger utilities. As a result, we will have a better understanding of how we source, transport, and treat water, leading to more informed decisions and better environmental outcomes.

To be approved for the SkatteFUNN scheme, a project must meet certain criteria:

  • Be targeted and defined, so that the project can be separated from the company's normal operations.
  • Develop or improve goods, services, or production processes.
  • Acquire new knowledge or new skills, or apply existing knowledge or skills in new ways or areas benefit the company.

The SkatteFUNN scheme is administered by the Research Council of Norway (Norges forskningsråd) in collaboration with the Norwegian Tax Agency (Skatteetaten).

The incentive is an R&D tax credit in the form of a possible deduction from the company's payable corporate tax of 19 percent, up to €2,5 million per year.
