Leveraging data to optimise wastewater maintenance

SewerIntelligence enables utilities to realise the operational value of their water data, with advanced network analysis and modelling tools for predictive decision making in wastewater management.

Introducing SewerIntelligence

Predictive maintenance for wastewater operations

SewerIntelligence extends PipeFusion’s data capabilities to deliver advanced solutions to mission-critical challenges in the wastewater process.

Detect and prevent inflow and infiltration

With PipeFusion's best-in-class network data, utilities are able to quantify water I&I in high resolution, helping to prioritise maintenance decisions while mitigating future risk to wastewater infrastructure.

Detect and reduce combined sewer overflows

Using advanced models of hydraulic behavior, SewerIntelligence lets operators forecast environmental scenarios to identify and reduce the risk of combined sewer overflows (CSO's) in the wastewater process.

Monitor and assess risk across wastewater network assets

Combine real-time conditions with scenario modelling and enhance the risk assessment and maintenance prioritisation of network assets, improving systems resilience and infrastructure improvement initiatives.

Our Approach

Unlocking sustainable value in water network management

InfoTiles uses advanced data analytics and AI to empower water supply and wastewater managers to improve operational decision making and reduce maintenance costs, maximising the value and resilience of water infrastructure.

Our Solution

Maximise cost efficiency in wastewater maintenance

Transform the impact of maintenance decisions

Something amazing happens when time-series and connected infrastructure combine. Water managers can ask conditional, what-if questions about water infrastructure from million of data points every second, changing maintenance priorities forever.

Reduce excess energy and resource use

With automated conditions monitoring across pipe and pump assets, SewerIntelligence enables operators to model inputs against environmental variables and optimise for energy and resource use, increasing network efficiency and sustainability.

Increase network capacity and quality control

SewerIntelligence allows for continuous modelling and assessment of network criticality, increasing capacity and improving quality control by measuring the cost, risk and outcome of decisions against real world operating conditions.

Product Features

Unlock advanced wastewater workflows

SewerIntelligence provides water professionals with the capabilities needed to transform routine infrastructure maintenance operations, utilising PipeFusion's best-in-class data foundation.

Visualise advanced network analysis

Map connected pipe segment zones to generate wastewater groups based on network topology and dynamically defined data attributes. Identify missing field attributes and correct network data, clustering network segments to their respective stations. This clustering determines the fill levels of pump station sumps and illustrates fully connected pipe areas. Visual objects display these connections, allowing users to see logical zone overlays to understand the algorithm's work across the real-world water network.

Detect anomalies to optimise pumping operations

Detect upstream blockages or combined sewer overflows (CSOs) using advanced inference. Anomalous readings, such as sudden drops in inflow, indicate upstream blockages, enabling rapid resolution of technical failures and capacity issues. This reduces the harm from CSOs and unnecessary expenses in treatment operations, optimising energy and chemical use across the network. By addressing these anomalies, SewerIntelligence enhances the efficiency and reliability of pumping operations.

Quantify I&I per pumped asset

Quantify I&I for each pumped asset or flow reading by linking measured data with pipe infrastructure for precise pinpointing of source issues and targeted operational interventions. Use historical records for risk and consequence assessments, expediting inspection prioritisation and root cause identification. Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OPEX costs and CO2 footprints related to I&I, providing comprehensive insights to understand operational impact and aiding in strategic decision-making.

Perform predictive network analysis

Map connected pipe segment zones and generate wastewater groups based on network topology and data attributes. Advanced AI capabilities, including Graph Neural Networks, support predictive risk assessment by understanding infrastructure connections and readings. Add context with historical data and work orders, aiding prioritisation based on segment or zone criticality, and weighted risk assessments for more efficient maintenance planning and resource allocation.

Frequently Asked Questions

SewerIntelligence

Can't find what you're looking for? Book a call with our team to connect and learn more about how our water data and operational solutions can support your infrastructure management strategy.

How does SewerIntelligence support routine wastewater operations?

Built on top of of PipeFusion’s best-in-class data engine, SewerIntelligence enables utilities to utilise data in regular planning, maintenance and reporting operations, helping to identify leaks and non-revenue water, set conditional alerts and understand the status of their network in real time for faster, more accurate decision making.

Is it possible to create and monitor alerts using SewerIntelligence?

Yes, you can create conditional alerts to monitor any aspect of your water network using SewerIntelligence. Never miss an important event again!

What data is required to calculate inflow and infiltration?

To calculate and address inflow and infiltration, SewerIntelligence relies only on pumping station level readings, but will benefit from additional sump area and nominal flow parameters.

What methods does SewerIntelligence use to calculate CO₂ emissions?

CO₂ emissions are calculated based on the local scope 1+2 emission factors for electricity in your region. These factors are updated based on publicly available data, which can be updated as frequently as every hour in some areas.

Can SewerIntelligence be used as a standalone product?

No, the capabilities of our SewerIntelligence module are dependent on PipeFusion’s best-in-class data engine and cannot be used as a standalone product.

What is the price of SewerIntelligence? Is there additional cost for data storage and retention?

InfoTiles products are priced using metered billing, meaning that customers only pay for what they use. Both PipeFusion and our Intelligence product modules are priced on per-kilometre basis, so the final pricing depends on the size of the network regardless of the volume of data. For exceptionally large water networks, or in instances where the size of the network does not correspond to the serviceable value, our team is happy to discuss fixed-rate alternatives.

InfoTiles provides pre-agreed upon limits for data storage and retention suitable to the use cases and functionality provided, the details of which can be discussed with our sales team. Typically, this is 5 years of 5-minute resolution data, with older data archived at 20-minute resolution for a further 5 years. Additional storage and retention is available upon request.
